XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX THE WORKSHOP

Paint portraits with soul and emotion. Learn how to easily achieve a likeness and capture the essential "sense" of a portrait subject using the language of artistic energy and the Munsell Color System. Study will include and go beyond the standard elements of design to cover the interpretation of the inherent energy of shape, linear directives, value patterns, color relationships, light and atmosphere, and the choice of marks. Additionally, the workshop will cover the anatomy of the head and features; flesh mixtures in warm and cool light; painting in a color family; and taking photo references and working with camera distortions. Instructor lectures, demonstrations, and individual critiques will occur daily. A group critique will follow the workshop. Live models. All levels. The workshop content is based on the concepts and practices contained in Charlotte's book "The Language Of Energy In Art: Finding Your Vision".
